The Journey

We beautiful horses are called the Nokota®
A quiddity quibble for North Dakota;
Roaming the northern plain,
Very few of us remain,
Way back we walked with Lakota.

Since we fought against Custer in his last campaign
We never back up from a roaring plane;
Without any commotion,
We flew over the ocean,
Such a journey was never in vain.

  1. A couple of years ago we visited the site of the Custer battlefield, it’s a memorial park, and they have Indian guides to tell you the story. It is very interesting. One image that always comes to mind is that they Indian archers could fire arrows very rapidly and that the arrows literally rained down on the soldiers.
